Today we all live and work in a culturally diverse world. Having the skills to communicate and work well with others while fostering mutual respect means the difference between success and failure. Please join us for an exciting and informative 3 part series of engaging and interactive workshops. This is a must-attend workshop series for business owners, managers, and employees who work with or have customers: 1) whose cultures or first language are different from their own; 2) with generation gaps; 3) and/or in a global marketplace. The workshops are offered free through the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce Diversity in Business Committee.
1. Breaking Down Intercultural Communication Barriers within the Workplace
Effective communication is essential to the successful operations of every company. Communication
always presents challenges in the workplace, but communicating with coworkers
or patrons whose cultures are different from our own and who have limited English
proficiency can be even more challenging. Rachel Skanson from the Spring Institute will
explore these intercultural communication challenges presented in a cultural diverse working
environment and discuss how to diminish these barriers.
