About S. Metro Denver Chamber Diversity Committee

The "South Metro Denver Diversity in Business" Meetup group is composed of business professionals and non-profit organizations dedicated to the advocacy of minority-owned businesses. As a committee within the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, it comprises of South Metro Chamber Members, major minority Chambers of Commerce, (OEDIT) Office of Economic Development and International Trade, diverse organizations, and businesses focused on diversity issues within business our business community.

Mission Statement
The South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce focuses on developing the diversity of our membership, as well as the diversity of the chamber leadership by raising the awareness of diversity issues and working to create a positive environment for business opportunities between minority owned, women owned, and all businesses in the South Metro Denver area.

Definition of Diversity
This includes (but is not limited to) females, males, people of color, people with disabilities, people of all ages, people who live alternative lifestyles, people of all religions, people with cultural or language backgrounds other than American or English, and people who have recently immigrated to the United States

Initiatives
• Increase awareness of the diversity of internal memberships
• Increase awareness of the diversity of the South metro area
• Develop cross-cultural partnerships with other “diverse chambers”
• Increase minority membership
• Provide an online resource for the minority membership and community
• Create a partnership with SBDC
• Create partnerships with internal committees
• Create a purchasing initiative
